Funding Priorities
Stable Housing
William Josef Foundation supports service, advocacy, and policy strategies aimed at expanding access and reducing barriers to affordable housing for individuals experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in Georgia with a focus on Metro Atlanta.
Income and Wealth Building
William Josef Foundation supports service organizations which expand access and/or lower barriers to income/wealth building opportunities through education, access to employment and workforce development, homeownership, and business ownership. WJF focuses grantmaking in this area on Metro Atlanta.
Justice Reform
William Josef Foundation supports a broad range of criminal justice reform strategies including policy research and education, impact litigation, organizing and movement building, and civic engagement to reduce the criminalization of poverty and reduce barriers to reentry housing, employment, and societal reintegration in Georgia. WJF has a statewide focus for this area.
William Josef Foundation prioritizes unrestricted operating grants and considers requests for project grants and capital campaigns. Organizations must be incorporated 501c3 organizations or have a fiscal sponsorship with a 501c3 organization. The foundation does not fund direct grants to individuals, religious activities, conference/seminars, or special events.
Grants Process
William Josef Foundation accepts letters of inquiry, but operates on an invitation to apply basis. Submission of a letter of inquiry may result in an invitation to apply for funding but does not guarantee funding consideration. Invitations to apply may include a site visit/meeting and request of further programmatic/strategic/financial documents. The Foundation approves grants four times a year: January, April, July, and October. To submit a letter of inquiry, please include a general description of the organization’s history and mission, programs, and overview of funding need.
